.You can change your PSN name as often as you’d like, though it can come with a cost ($5 for PlayStation Plus subscribers and $10 for non-subscribers).
The first name change is free, and every subsequent change is an additional fee depending on your PlayStation® Plus subscriber status.

There are some potential in-game consequences of changing your PSN name. It might affect access to content, game currency, game progress, and leaderboards in certain older games. In particular, PlayStation®3 and PlayStation® Vita games and apps don’t support this feature.

There are four ways to change your PlayStation Network name. Be sure to take note of your PSN login information. You’ll have to sign back in after updating your username.

Open the PS® App.
Press the controller icon to get to the Play menu.

On your PS4 home screen, go to Settings.
Select Account Management > Account Information > Profile > Online ID.
Type your new PSN name into the box on screen. If your new online ID is available, select Continue.

However, if you’re still holding onto your PS3 or PS Vita, it’s important to be aware these systems do not support PSN name changes. Sony is quick to highlight the fact that changing your PSN ID and then playing games on these systems could result in issues including loss of access to content, loss of in-game progress and your previous ID may remain visible.
